Amped Up for AMP 2012
Are you heading to Long Beach, Calif., this week for the Association for Molecular Pathology Annual Meeting? I'll be on the scene on behalf of ADVANCE, and I'm really looking forward to it, especially after spending some time this morning putting together my schedule.
There are a lot of sessions about next-generation sequencing, a topic we've also covered often this year in ADVANCE for Administrators of the Laboratory. It seems this is the year that NGS has truly taken hold and is accessible for an ever-growing number of laboratories. I'm also really looking forward to the "Interpretation of DNA Sequence Data" session -- figuring out how to make sense of the massive amounts of data produced by sequencing is going to be a critically important topic for molecular labs in the coming years. What sessions are you most looking forward to?
If you aren't a subscriber, make sure you pick up copies of ADVANCE while you're there. We'll have the October issues, as well as our special Molecular Diagnostics edition. And as always, we'd love to hear your feedback, so if you see me running around (look for the press pass!), please don't hesitate to say hello and let me know your thoughts.
P.S. If you have a smartphone, I highly recommend the AMP meeting app. It has all of the exhibitor information (including booth numbers), maps, session schedules, and more. The app was available last year, too, and was a lifesaver.
