Caption Our Creation: Grow Guy Army
Friday Fun at ADVANCE Custom Promotions.
OK, OK, sometimes our enthusiasm's a little ... unbridled. A few days ago, while chatting with Lou, the custom promotions marketing manager, he mentioned that he has an entire drawer full of Grow Guy Grow Cups. Some are even Grow Girl Grow Cups. The conversation arose because of my own attempt at growing one of the grow cups.
I have a black thumb, but even through 90+ degree days and some neglect on my part (sorry, Grow Guy), the little forget-me-not plant's powered through - to a point. He could certainly use a little more love and care, but a few sprouts are making it. The somewhat sad state of my little Grow Guy are what led Lou to suggest that maybe I try again with one of the Grow Guys from his stash.
Instead of thinking of replacing my beloved, slightly alive Grow Guy, my thoughts immediately turned to the ADVANCE Custom Promotions page on Facebook. We could get all those Grow Guys together and make an army! An army of glorious Grow Guys! And then we could take a picture!
Plans went into motion and I talked with Wade, the marketing coordinator, and after extensive hair and makeup, we toted all the Grow Guys, which teetered precariously in our arms and under our chins, to the human resources conference room.
My method of piling them pyramid-style on top of each other was a massive fail. Because some of the Grow Gals don high heels, they didn't make very good bases - or very good pyramid tops, either. Wade whipped into motion and arranged them in a triangle on the table, asking me to close the blinds for better lighting. A few confused Merionites (others at our company) wandered by and peeked in at our delicate proceedings.
After some touchups and some severe badgering of the Web design department, here's the finished product, in the photo above. After the photo shoot with the Grow Guys wrapped up, we realized one important fact. We had not planned what to actually write along with said photo. It's a great pic, and some (OK, maybe just Wade and I) would call it epic.
Here's where you come in. Can you help us caption this Grow Guy picture? I like that the guy in front has work boots on and his face is a picture of the world. It feels a lot like world domination, but the robots are already on that. The caption doesn't have to include world domination - it can be whatever you'd like, but we'd love to hear from you! Leave your ideas in the comments below, and you can also see Grow Guy and all of his world travels on our page on Facebook.
