Honor staff and residents with these giveaways for NALW.

National Assisted Living Week is right around the corner - Sept. 12-18 - but there's still time to order National Assisted Living Week gifts for your facility's staff and/or residents. Across the country, assisted living facilities will host health fairs, themed celebrations, cocktail parties, dances, movie nights and more for residents and staff to enjoy.

If you'd like to add some National Assisted Living Week gifts to the mix, we have a large selection to choose from, and to narrow down the choices a bit, I picked out three with three different price ranges for you to peruse. I tried to focus on gifts that would make residents' homes a bit brighter, but that would also be welcomed by staff members as recognition for their hard work throughout the year.

Tier One: Wholesale Votive Candles. These wholesale gel candles can be custom imprinted with the facility name, the theme for this year's National Assisted Living Week or whatever message you'd like. They cost $2.65 each for 576 or more, and come in a variety of scents sure to add some ambiance to any resident's room. You can choose from two colors, clear glass with purple gel or red glass with clear gel. Available in quantities as low as 144, these wholesale votive candles would make welcome National Assisted Living Week gifts.

Tier Two: Full-color Bulk Planters. Brighten up any room with a planter printed with your facility's full-color decal. We offer several types of seeds - daisies, forget-me-nots, an old-fashioned mixture or an herb mix - so you can choose the one you think will suit recipients best. The planters cost $3.05 each for 500 or more, and because the decal is full-color, you can make it as creative as you'd like. These wholesale planters would make good gifts for staff members, too, because they're portable and can be planted at home.

Tier Three: Custom Engraved Photo Frames. Provide residents with a spot to show off favorite memories with a custom engraved photo frame as one of your National Assisted Living Week gifts. These custom picture frames are available in quantities as low as 25, and you can score 250 for $6.39 apiece. There's a spot on the frame for an engraved logo or message, and the modern, simple silver frame will fit in with any décor.

How do you celebrate National Assisted Living Week? Have you scaled back the celebration at all in the last few years?

About Lynn Jusinski

After an internship at a home magazine where she wrote about media rooms and $500,000 pool renovations from the comfort of a teeny, cluttered dorm room, Lynn Jusinski graduated from a small college in Pennsylvania and then moved on to write for two weekly newspapers in suburban Philadelphia. A column she penned for the papers won an award from the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. In 2007, Lynn moved back to the magazine world, and worked full-time as an associate editor for ADVANCE for Health Information Professionals. Her work on the magazine led to “Rookie of the Year” honors and a second place feature award in the annual Editorial Excellence Awards presented by Merion Publications Inc. In her free time, Lynn is typically stuck in traffic, shopping, reading, constructing poorly made crafts and hanging out in and around her hometown.
