See You in Seattle!
Here at
ADVANCE, we're gearing up for the AHIMA Convention and Exhibits, held this year in Seattle. Note to the other attendees: it will be a
bit chilly out there. I'm packing as many sweaters as I can fit into my bag. It hasn't been much warmer here in Pennsylvania lately, so the sweaters are already out of their summer hiding places.
If you're planning to attend the meeting, what are you most looking forward to? I like all of the green initiatives that AHIMA is doing this year, with water stations set up and thumb drives handed out at registration. I'm going to miss quite a few of the general sessions, but I'll be attending many of the educational sessions, and I always enjoy those. Also, the President's Premier Celebration will be held at The Experience Music Project, which should be quite a treat.
Besides all of the work-related stuff, are you doing anything else Seattle-ish? I'll have some time out there before the show starts, so share any can't miss destinations. What are you excited about when it comes to the city? Will you be heading to the top of the Space Needle? Perusing fresh produce (and avoiding the fish flying overhead) at Pike Place Market?
If you can't make it to the show this year, you can check out our coverage right here. The ADVANCE staff is planning to update pictures each day, and we'll be blogging live from the show. Our newest staffer, Cheryl McEvoy, is going to try her hand, er, voice, at a Webcast, so be sure to check that out. Also, we'll have complete print coverage in the Nov. 3 issue of ADVANCE. Let us know what you think of the live coverage, and if you're heading to Seattle, we wish you a safe trip and a great time! Stop by our booth, #1404, to say hi! And after you get back, you can share your photos on our Facebook page, as well. Happy travels!
