RAC Outreach Launched
If you've had a chance to read the five little-known things about recovery audit contractors (RACs) listed in our Web article "More on Prepping for RACs" (you can also find an abbreviated list in our print issue), you know that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is planning outreach events to help hospitals prepare for those dreaded audits.
Well, lo and behold, I received an e-mail alert from CMS last Friday announcing that its Web site had been updated. What's new, you ask? CMS has posted a provider outreach schedule, with face-to-face, Webinar and conference call opportunities available. As our industry expert Sandy Newstein, RN, CPC, CPC-P, CPC-H, AHFI, CPUR, senior consulting manager at IMA Consulting, recommends: take advantage of these opportunities. Ask your burning questions and get the answers you're looking for.
While you're waiting for CMS to roll into town, take a gander at our extensive coverage on RACs. Our March cover story on RACs can be found here; five little-known things are posted here; and don't forget to read our monthly RAC Ready column-click here for the most recent entry.
