Technology Musings of an Unreasonable MT

About Technology Musings of an Unreasonable MT

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.  Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man. -George Bernard Shaw

I must confess, I am an unreasonable MT. I persist in trying to adapt my world to myself, be it MT, AHDI, my business, my computer, my house, or my yard (among other things). This makes me unusual for an MT, and a technogeek through and through. I just couldn't blog without acknowledging the fact that my world revolves around all things tech. I want to expose MTs to this world, both as it revolves around the MT industry, and as it revolves around the world in general. I have often said that I could live anywhere, as long as I had high-speed Internet and cable TV (I am also a TV addict). It has been my dream to one day have all MTs realize that technology is not only a friend, it is an important part of life in general. I hear so many MTs say, "I spend 8 hours a day looking at my computer, why would I want to go home and do the same thing?" I'll tell you why. The things I find on the Internet amaze, amuse and sometimes disturb me, but it is usually an educational and an eye-opening experience. If this blog pushes MTs to the status of unreasonable by wanting to adapt computers to themselves, rather than just adapting themselves to their computers, and shows them the wonders computers and the Internet bring to their personal worlds, and the whole planet, I will feel like I've accomplished something.

I am going to write this blog differently than other tech articles I have written. I am going to use jargon, acronyms and technical language, and challenge you to explore what I am talking about by using the most useful tool at your disposal . . . The Internet. One of my most often repeated phrase is, "You can find anything on the Internet." I want you all to help me prove it.
