Summer Sting

Published May 28, 2008 12:20 PM by Travis Bankhead
We are finally in the middle of the summer semester and the weather is finally starting to get nice.  Last week we had a guest speaker in our reimbursement seminar class who spoke to us about corporate compliance.  We were able to learn about the huge financial loss each year to due medical fraud.  The amount lost each year was actually astounding to us.  It was really nice to have him come and talk to us being that he is an alumnus of our program, so it's always nice to have them come back and let us have reassurance that there are great jobs out there for us when we graduate.

As assignments and papers are piling up, my procrastination has kicked into full gear this past holiday weekend so needless to say I have a lot of work to still get done.  We have a paper due in our Human Relations class due next week and we also have to have the hypothesis, specific aims and significance sections of our epidemiologic research project done.  I will definitely be working on these all weekend after the "Lost" finale on Thursday and my clinical on Thursday and Friday.  As for my clinical, I get to go to a local drug and rehab facility to study quality management and risk management so I will have details about my experience next week.

Until next time- Travis
