Published December 11, 2007 10:19 PM by Frank Irving

Not likely, according to Rasmussen Reports, which published results of a national survey on the topic. The survey asked 1,000 adults the following question on Dec. 5-6:

During your holiday family gatherings, will you and your family discuss politics with a passion, avoid political discussions like the plague, or occasionally talk about the political news of the day?

The results, released on Dec. 11:

15% Discuss politics with a passion.

25% Avoid political discussions like the plague.

58% Occasionally talk about the political news of the day.

  2% Not sure.

The poll has a margin of sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points, with a 95% level of confidence.
