Obama's E-mail
About two weeks ago, Barack Obama's campaign organization offered to electronically notify individuals as soon as the Illinois senator had made his running-mate selection.
I signed up for the list...not thinking that I would scoop CNN, but wanting to see how efficiently the process would work.
The news broke on Saturday that Joe Biden would fill out the Democratic ticket. Although I wasn't logged in to receive the e-mail in real time, I can see from the time stamp that the message came through at 4:55 a.m.
The official announcement was made on TV and online at 2:00 p.m. Central time.
I received a repeat e-mail notification at 11:12 a.m.
