About Connie's Corner

As representative on the New Jersey Board of Nursing, Connie Wilson, LPN, will offer regular insight on what she considers "hot topics" affecting LPNs and their scope of practice. A true advocate for the practical nursing profession, Wilson also serves as practice chair for the New Jersey State Nurses Association's LPN Forum and is staffed full-time as discharge nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton, NJ. She's also a smoking cessation counselor.

About Connie Wilson

A 1978-graduate of Mercer County Vocational/Technical School in Trenton, NJ, Connie Wilson, LPN, joined St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton soon after and has been there since, working in various nursing capacities. Currently serving as the facility’s discharge nurse and smoking cessation counselor, Wilson resides in Central New Jersey with her husband Tom. She founded the New Jersey State Nurses Association’s LPN Forum in 2003 and was appointed LPN representative with the New Jersey Board of Nursing in 2005. She’s also an active member of ADVANCE For LPNs’ editorial advisory board and New Jersey League For Nursing. Her list of awards and achievements is extensive and includes being named to the Cambridge Who’s Who for Executives and Professionals as well as earning an LPN Nursing Excellence award from St. Francis and a Governor’s Nursing Excellence Award in 2007. She also received a Spirit Award from her facility in 2007 and was given a Career Success Award by Mercer County Vo-Tech in 1992.
