Raising the Bar
St. Mary's Hospital in County Monaghan in Ireland has an interesting activity for residents and visitors: a pub.
Assistant Director of Nursing, Rose Mooney, explains that:
"Because most of our lives ... centre around the pub or some kind of recreational activity. ... We should try and you know, continue with that. This is their home for the rest of maybe their time here so we would do a lot of work trying to keep it as home-like as possible, and one of the ways that we do that is with the bar."
The bar also charges standard prices, which give the facility a little extra revenue.
