AAHSA Report 1
AAHSA's annual conference got off to a rousing start, with thanks to Whoopi Goldberg and Dana Carvey. I heard several attendees say they weren't sure what to expect from Whoopi, but were pleasantly surprised and inspired by her opening remarks.
The 8,000+ attendees seem to be enjoying Philadelphia inside and outside of the conference. I told you I was excited about watching the Chef Challenge and Last Designer Standing, and they did not dissapoint. I'll look forward to seeing who will be crowned winners.
Of course, the economic crisis is on everyone's mind, including AAHSA President Larry Minnix. He and the association are lobbying hard for long-term care to be inlcuded in the federal health care budget.
I'm off to a session, and will have more to report later, including photos.
