AAHSA Report 2
I have to say this was probably the best AAHSA conference I've attended. The normally lively exhibit hall was absolutely buzzing this year with sights, sounds and smells. The Last Designer Standing competition came to an emotional close as the residents visited the hall on Wednesday to see their rooms. The team of Diana Dougherty and Michelle Preiston, both students at Drexel University, won for their design of a resident room for Rebecca Griffin of St. Ignatius Nursing Home in Philadelphia. I hear the voting was close, and Christopher Hansen and Amanda Pincin's room for St. Ignatius resident Thorton Marshall was also well received.

Over at the Chef Challenge the aroma of seared sea bass and cheesesteak sliders wafted through the hall as the final day of the event took place center stage. The team from Cura Hospitality, Orefield, Pa., emerged victorious. Those of us spectators even got to taste some homemade potato chips and pomegranate shortbread cookies.
These events proved to be a fun, interactive way for companies to promote their businesses. Hopefully, we will see more next year!
