Elder Abuse Awareness Day

Published June 9, 2009 10:56 AM by Liz Rosto

The International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse is sponsoring World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2009 on June 15. The key objective of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is to raise awareness about elder abuse, including neglect and mistreatment, throughout the world.

INPEA's Web site features tons of valuable information on education, prevention and events.

Abuse and neglect can be a serious problem in long-term care, and one that the industry is working hard to overcome. Wear something purple on June 15 to show you care about ending elder abuse and neglect.

Check out Anthony Cirillo's video blog on the topic: http://anthonyssong.blogspot.com/2009/06/elder-abuse-awareness-day-june-15.html
