Happy Birthday Medicare
Today, July 30th, Medicare celebrates its 44th birthday. In honor and support of Medicare, the Leadership Conference for Guaranteed Health Care is hosting a rally and lobby today in Washington, D.C. The group supports a national, single-payer healthcare system and the passage of HR 676.
The organization has a ton of supporters, including the California Nurses Association, the American Medical Student Association, Healthcare-NOW!, the New York Nurses Association and the NAACP. The long-term care associations are taking a wait and see approach to how health care reform will affect the industry.
