Seniors concerned about proposed health care reform

Published August 28, 2009 1:58 PM by Maureen Salera

All the mixed messages over President Obama's plan for health care reform are apparently leaving seniors feeling fearful, or at least according to this article in The Washington Post.

Specifically, some elderly people fear the new plan will mean a complete loss of control over their health care and that the cuts to Medicare will negatively impact their health care.

A recent ABC/Washington Post poll found 45 percent of respondents overall supporting Democrats' proposed health care changes, while just 34 percent of seniors were in support.

Are your residents all abuzz about the proposed health care reform? Do conversations in your facility quickly turn into raging debates over who is right or wrong? How are you handling it?
