George Fritsma, MS, MT (ASCP), lab practitioner, associate professor and author, recently launched an online, interactive hemostasis resource known as The Fritsma Factor. Designed for laboratory practitioners to share information and knowledge, the forum offers three components:
With registered users working in fields related to hemostasis, the site has been generating thought-provoking questions and discussions on topics such as: anticoagulant therapy, aspirin and platelets, thrombophilia testing, and specimen collection. According to one user, "The site is very user-friendly and has been useful in presenting educational content and emerging ideas I may not otherwise have access to."
Fritsma is hopeful the site will take on a life of its own as it builds a community of like-minded professionals. "I am confident," he said, "that it will live up to its purpose: to provide a much-needed resource for the international community of medical laboratory professionals to network with one another on issues of interest or concern."
The Fritsma Factor is supported by Precision BioLogic Inc.
