Lab Week Deadline Approaching
Time is running out to submit your nominations for the 2008 ADVANCE Laboratory and Laboratory Professional of the Year contests. Nominating your lab or a coworker is a great way to inspire your staff and show them you appreciate their efforts.
Meleta Hand, MLT(ASCP), hematology technician at Keesler (MS) Air Force Base Medical Center, and the ADVANCE 2007 NMLPW Laboratorian of the Year, said winning the award was the greatest accomplishment of her career.
"Just knowing my supervisor felt my work and commitment to these values was worthy of nomination meant more than words can describe," Hand told ADVANCE. "It also made me determined to strive to do even better and always be the best example I can be on and off the job."
The winning laboratory facility will take home $500 and a commemorative plaque. The winning laboratorian nets $300 and a commemorative plaque. And there are prizes to be won just by nominating a facility or coworker.
