CLEC Celebrates 25 Years

Published February 19, 2009 12:38 PM by Matthew T. Patton

DENVER--The registration area is abuzz with activity this morning for CLEC--the 25th anniversary of the Clinical Laboratory Educators’ Conference: "Education With Altitude."

Joan Polancic, director of education at ASLCS, said, “We are very excited about the good turnout. This is the 25th anniversary, so we are looking forward to celebrating and continuing the tradition of CLEC.”

Terry Jo Gile, MT(ASCP), aka “The Safety Lady,” is previewing a set of games at the meeting this morning in the registration area. The games use a Jeopardy style format of Q&A, complete with music, sound effects and photos. She said the games will be available on her Web site Mar. 18.

It's fitting the opening session in the Mile High City will feature a mountain climber. This morning’s opening session will feature Jake Norton, MountainWorld Productions, who will talk about keys to success on all of life’s mountains. Norton has climbed Mount Everest numerous times and will help attendees identify and climb the Everest in their own lives.

Check the blog for a recap of the keynote session and other coverage throughout the meeting.
