Attendees Praise Meeting: CLEC Quote Roundup

Published February 19, 2009 2:03 PM by Matthew T. Patton

Here’s a few dispatches from my reporter’s notepad on why people are attending CLEC:

Janis Glatzel, MS, MT(ASCP), associate professor of clinical laboratory science at the University of Nevada (Las Vegas), said, “We are trying to rebuild, restructure and retain students, so we are here for some how-tos … what works, what doesn’t.”

Beth Warning, MT(ASCP), CLS(NCA), program director at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Edgewood, KY, is attending CLEC, “to keep up with the knowledge necessary to be a program director and to network with colleagues throughout the country … that’s the best part.”

Clarice Choy, MT(ASCP), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Colton, CA, said, “We try to keep updated on things that are happening with educators.”

Karen Golemboski, MT(ASCP), program director at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, is attending CLEC again this year because, “there’s always something relevant to education and it’s a great opportunity to network with other educators … and it’s always fun.”
