ASCT 2009
Coming from Philadelphia, where I think the term "April showers" may have been coined, St. Petersburg, FL, is certainly a welcome respite from the gloomy weather back home.
The "Sunshine City," known for its record-breaking great weather and award winning beaches, is the setting for the American Society for Cytotechnology's 2009 Annual Conference and 30th Anniversary Celebration, held at The Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront hotel, located in the downtown waterfront district.
After yesterday's poolside 30th Anniversary Celebration, ASCT attendees began today with a breakfast with exhibitors, followed by a resounding welcome by ASCT President and frequent ADVANCE contributer, Lynnette Savaloja, SCT(ASCP).
Today's attendees have the option of attending two microscope workshops: EUS FNA of the Pancreatic/Biliary Tract, or Cytology of AIS, its Mimics and Cytomorphological Criteria for Diagnosis. We'll be offering live coverage over the next couple of days, so check back for more updates!
