Part of Dr. Centano's presentation focused on understanding the cytological features of cystic and intraductal masses, particularly serous cystadenoma, mucinous cystic neoplasm and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm.
Dr. Centano's co-presenter, Benjamin R. Kipp, PhD, CT, MP(ASCP), assistant professor of medicine, and cytopathology research and development coordinator, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology Mayo Clinic College of Medicine; discussed pancreatobiliary tract malignancies and the difficulty in diagnosing them by routine cytology.
Dr. Kipp covered cholangiocarcinoma, Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma and Pancreatobiliary Strictures. He also delved into molecular tests, including FlSH, DIA (IC) and K-RAS.
