Part of this morning's session focused on the importance of students to cytology. ASCT administrators and volunteers are working to expand opportunities and funding for more students to attend the meetings. This year, Third Wave Technologies provided a grant to help students attend this 30th anniversary meeting.

Yesterday, student presentations were electronically presented. Today, the top 10 student submissions were presented to the group. With topics ranging from "FNA of Forestm Mass," to "Malignant Mesothelioma in a Patient With no Known Asbestos Exposure," the presentations offered educational cases for attendees and gave the students the opportunity to put their named out for potential future employment.

Educational Coordinator Michele Smith, SCT(ASCP), introduced each student and said where they were looking for employment. Many were open to working anywhere they could find an appointment. The first presentor, Akewa-Bah Kororoumo, was open minded, but was really loving Florida, Smith related.
