AAALAC Elects President

John Bradfield, DVM, PhD, professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, was elected president of the Council on Accreditation of the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC).

AAALAC  is an international nonprofit organization promoting humane animal treatment in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs.

Dr. Bradfield is the director of the Division of Laboratory Animal Medicine (DLAM) at UNC and is also on the DLAM advisory committee. The DLAM is responsible for the care of all animals on the UNC campus and is committed to programs of excellence in veterinary care and laboratory animal management practices for all animals used in UNC research endeavors.
