Alert: Florida Licensure Deadline Looms

Published August 25, 2010 11:50 PM by Matthew T. Patton

Kay Fergason, MT(AMT), from AMT Florida asked us to share an important message about licensure renewal. Her Aug. 23 e-mail to ADVANCE appears below. Note that ADVANCE has not verified this information and cannot, therefore, guarantee the accuracy of the content of this message. Regardless, if you live in Florida, we advise you verify your work licensure eligibility.

URGENT NOTICE!
According to the Department of Health, renewal of Florida Laboratory Licenses are going slower than usual and YOU ONLY HAVE 1 WEEK LEFT TO BE COMPLIANT.

If you have not renewed yet, please go to: www.FLHealthsource.com and follow these steps:

1. Click Renew My License and log in.
2. Click Renew License and select your renewal option:
a. Renew on line
b. Print your renewal notice to submit with your payment via mail. If you are mailing it you must use the renewal form.

Also I would suggest that you send it STAT by Express or Priority mail to make it on time. REMEMBER, IF YOU DO NOT RENEW YOUR LICENSE BY AUGUST 31, 2010, YOU CANNOT WORK.

IMPORTANT: In closing, please be aware that that there is a false rumor being circulated that if you have recently upgraded or applied to upgrade your licensure status (ie: MLT to MT; MT to Supervisor; etc.) you do not need to renew. THIS IS NOT TRUE! Upgrading does NOT take care of renewing your license. Please make all of your employees, colleagues and co-workers aware of this.
