Facebook Feedback: Reunions and Career Changes

We asked Facebook fans: Do
you go to med lab class reunions? Do you keep in touch with friends you met in

- No I don't.
- No....I work with the same organization but they
are in different depts. I also have worked with some of my students when I was
a TA but they all have moved on.
- Yes! Only five of us made it to graduation - so
it's pretty easy to stay in touch!
- We had a five year reunion (in 1996) but that
was the only one. Have only found 1 of 7 others on facebook!

- As far as I know, Wake Forest Baptist Medical
Center doesn't do MLS class reunions, but I am friends with a couple of my
former classmates here on FB. :)
- I keep in touch with a couple of friends from
class...but an MLS reunion....don't they only do that for high school?
- At the University of Minnesota, we have an
alumni banquet every spriing for the MT/CLS classes to get back together. We
have special tables for the 25th and 50th anniversary classes, and we've had a
few 75th anniversary class members come back for their reunions too. The
graduating seniors are also honored as they will soon join the ranks of the
- I go to Homecoming every year at my alma mater
(Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC). 2 or 3 years ago, they started
organizing a joint "concert" during Saturday lunch of that weekend
with the students' Concert Choir and alumni who return to sing (also the
National Anthem to kick off our football game)...so I NEVER miss that. Also, MU
may consider establishing a MLS program now that they have PA and nursing
We also asked Facebook fans: If you could switch careers, what would you do? Get creative!
- surgery, painting...
- Own a bed & breakfast! I absolutely love to
cook and entertain others!
- There are several options I may consider -
meteorology, law (so that I could get paid to argue instead of being accused of
insubordination)...or perhaps some sort of doctor if I decided that I enjoy
being in debt. (Forensic pathology, infectious disease, or cardiology). :D

- Actor no doubt, But forget this TV or sound
stage twenty-takes, soft-filters, great lighting, edited crap. I want to
rehearse long hours, learn pages of dialogue, dig up emotions
(Stanislavski-style) and then face opening night; ready or not. I want to be
naked (figuratively) before a live audience on stage every night. I want to
stay up all night, sleep in, go on stage, and repeat the cycle again. I have
been lucky to do some of that and I feel most alive and fulfilled bathed in a
