I was at the
hospital for a computer go live from 10 AM Saturday until 11 AM Sunday, went
home until 3 and was there until about midnight I think. The worst part was
that I didn't get any extra overtime on Sunday from 3-12 because I went home
Sunday morning and it started a new week. Lesson learned there!
-
24 hrs-during a

Well, I've
workedmy fair share of 12 hours shifts but when I had 2 med tech jobs, I worked

September 11-12, 2001. 16 hour shifts as well the next 2 days. I worked for a
blood bank that's a part of America's Blood Centers, and blood donations soared.

It was a
"regular" 8 hour midnight shift, but seemed a lot longer. I was the
only tech on duty and had a hellacious night with codes and traumas, blood bank
and other stats, yada yada. I was so relieved when it came time for the 4 am
phlebot to arrive. Finally, help at last. But she didn't show. I was desperate
and called her at home. When I laid into her for being late, she simply
replied, "You forgot to set your clock back." Aaarrrggghhh! It was
daylight savings and I had another hour of this nightmare!
