Facebook Feedback: Injuries and Holidays

Published December 8, 2011 10:27 AM by Kelly Wolfgang

If you're not following us on Facebook, you're missing a lot of fun feedback. If you are, keep following and spread the word! The conversations are far from over.

We asked Facebook fans: Have you ever been injured on the job?

Here are selected responses, copied verbatim without editing:

  • Yes, and it hurt. Dropped an 8' I beam on my shoulder from a roof hoist 7 or 8 feet off the floor.
  • Although, now that I think about it, your probably referring more towards a lab injury and not something from my old job...
  • Yes
  • Just my ego....but that's a good thing! It's always good to be reminded that you don't know as much as you might think. I love working in the laboratory!
  • yes
  • More like exposed more than actual injury - Brucella from a knee fluid- wasn't really expecting that & had to go on the prophylactic antibiotics for a couple of weeks.
  • Yes. Tripped, fell on out-stretched arm, which caused an impaction fracture of my humerus. Watch your step.Facebook Feedback
  • Does a papercut count? :)
  • I cut myself with a scalpel when I was getting ready to cut up a heart valve for culturing. Luckily I hadn't used it yet and it was sterile. I bled copiously and had to go the ER.

We also asked Facebook fans: How do you stay sane during the holidays? Or do you?

  • wine.
  • I think about the things that are important, laugh at the people who praise the things that arn't, and make mead.
  • Study more.
  • meds
  • my son....he keeps me going n going n going..:-)
  • Remember that christ is the real reason for christmas, focus on spiritual gifts and family w/o getting caught in the hype. Give from the heart all year long and don't feel pressured to give more just b/c the calender says so.
  • When I go Christmas shopping I put myself into 'slow down and smell the roses' mode. I take my time looking at things and refuse to let the impatient people get to me.
