Facebook Feedback: Laboratory Achievements and Holiday Wish Lists
If you're
not following us on Facebook,
you're missing a lot of fun feedback. If you are, keep following and spread the
word! The conversations are far from over.
We asked Facebook fans: What do you believe is the greatest laboratory achievement to date?
Here are
selected responses, copied verbatim without editing:
- The
microscope :-)
- The
immunoassay in all its forms from RIA to latex to ELISA.
- automated
blood banking..LOL NOT
- Automated
bacterial ID and sensitivities.
- Gloves.
- Gloves and
Pipette aids!
- Automation,
considering it used to take 4-8 hours to run a manual chemistry.
- Automated
microscopic analysis
- Don't know
the greatest but the worst is middleware!!!
- PCR
testing!!
- Automation
is costing med techs their jobs. Automation is definitely not the greatest
laboratory achievement!
We also asked Facebook fans: What lab supplies are on your holiday wish lists this year?
- The MT
students at Ferris State University would like some reagents (for ANY
analyte) that are newer than 12 years expired! :) And maybe some
lightbulbs for our BacTAlert. We haven't been able to use it in years.
- Electrophoresis
Systems !
- an
automatic permounting machine would be great santa!

- Panther
from GenProbe!
- A new
automation line...this one has trouble reading bar codes!
- Staff! :)
- An
automated UA analyzer
- Co-workers
and co-workers that work!!
- Replacements
for techs who are leaving.
