Are Laboratorians Feeling the Love?

Published February 14, 2012 8:24 AM by Valerie Newitt

A Valentine’s Day question: Does your lab get an adequate dose of “love” from your facility, the healthcare industry or the general public in response to the huge role diagnostics play in patient outcomes?

Most likely it’s a case of out of sight, out of mind. Labs generally don’t have the spotlighted public image and corresponding recognition to garner the hearts and flowers they are due. When’s the last time your lab received a letter from a grateful patient?

Here’s a little love tap from ADVANCE to all the laboratorians, laboratories and administrators  who, by virtue of their mission, skill and level of practice, make it possible for diagnoses to be made. After all, effectual treatment and healthful outcomes most often start in the lab.
