Waiting for Certification...
As my journey continues, so does the twist, turns and uncertainty. I am still awaiting the green light from ANCC. I run to my mailbox with mixed emotions of wanting to get this over with and fear of not passing. My paperwork was sent to ANCC in December. The $390 fee was charged to my credit card on December 16, 2008. After speaking with an ANCC representative in January, I was told it usually takes about eight weeks, not counting the week the agency was closed for Christmas. So any day now, I am expecting "the envelope" that will literally hold my future.
In the meantime, I have received some great news on the job front. The administrator for the OB/GYN practice I blogged about here called to offer me the job. I did not allow him to finish his sentence before I jumped in with an emphatic, "YES". The plan is to begin work as soon as I pass the certification exam. Needless to say, I am excited and feel very fortunate to have been offered employment in this economy.
Next month, I pray I will be able to sign off with Melody Davis, RN, MSN, CRNP.
