Meg Carman, DNP, ACNP-BC, CEN, serves on faculty in the ABSN program at the Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, North Carolina. She also practices with Wake Emergency Physicians, PA of Raleigh North Carolina. Carman received her BSN from Boston University, Master's and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Duke University School of Nursing. Interests focus on the promotion of evidence-based practice for issues affecting emergency nursing, implementation of clinical decision support tools, and the use of simulation to improve education and practice.

Catherine Nichols, MSN, ANP, B-C, is a DNP student and adult nurse practitioner. She works at the Walt Breast Center of the Karmanos Cancer Institute, with a vast array of multiple SES, multicultural, multilingual, and indigent populations, diagnosing and treating breast cancer patients and survivors. The outpatient clinic is in urban Detroit, and is a research based, teaching hospital that is accredited by the National Cancer Institute, one of an elite 40 in the country.

Michael Zychowicz, NP, is the chairman for the Master's Programs at Duke University School of Nursing. He earned his DNP from the Case Western Reserve University Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing in 2006. He is a nationally certified Adult NP, Orthopedic NP and RN First Assistant at Surgery. His practice interest includes general orthopedics as well as management of patients with back pain. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of NPs and was selected for the Academy's 2006 State Award for Excellence. He was honored with the 2004 NY State NP of the Year Award and is the lead author and editor for the book Orthopedic Nursing Secrets.

Lisa Astalos Chism, NP, FAANP, is a gerontologic and women's health nurse practitioner who earned her doctorate in nursing practice in 2007 from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. She practices at Karmanos Cancer Institute’s Alexander J. Walt Comprehensive Breast Center, in Detroit. She is an adjunct assistant professor at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan, and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Chism is the author of The Doctor of Nursing Practice: A Guidebook for Role Development and Professional Issues.

Scott Governo, NP, is a DNP student at the University of Tennessee-Health Science Center focusing on psychiatric mental health nursing. He practices in Asheville, N.C., working with children for nearly two decades in a variety of roles, encompassing inpatient, outpatient, and in community settings. He treats children with developmental and behavioral problems such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression and other concerns.

Dena Galler, NP is a family NP who received her DNP from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2008. She is nationally certified with ANCC as a family NP and is also a certified neuroscience registered nurse. She works as an NP in the outpatient clinic at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs’ Spinal Cord Injury Center.

Margaret A. Fitzgerald, NP, is the president and principal lecturer with Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc. She is in clinical practice at the Greater Lawrence (Mass.) Family Health Center and is adjunct faculty for their Family Practice Residency Program. She is a 2006 graduate of Case Western Reserve University, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice program where she was honored with the Alumni Award for Excellence in Clinical Practice.

Ying Mai Kung, NP, received an MSN degree as a family nurse practitioner and a master’s degree in public health from Emory University in 1989. In 2006 she received a post-master’s nurse educator certificate from Florida State University. She graduated in 2010 from the University of Florida with a doctor of nursing practice degree and received the Academic Excellence Award for the 2010 DNP graduating class. She teaches full time at the Florida State University College of Nursing. She is an advocate for nursing and patient care issues.
