Free Celiac Disease CME Activity for NPs & PAs
The incidence of celiac disease has quadrupled since 1950, and its clinical presentations vary widely. Untreated celiac disease can lead to osteoporosis, infertility and malignancies, and it increases mortality risk and decreases quality of life.
Because celiac disease is underdiagnosed and often misdiagnosed, and because incidence of atypical and asymptomatic presentations are on the rise, heightened awareness is important among NPs and PAs.
Visit Celiac CME Central for a free primary care CME activity, "Defining, Diagnosing and Managing Celiac Disease," from the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness, and brought to you in partnership with ADVANCE for NPs & PAs. Also check out ADVANCE's celiac disease article by Gail Pearson, FNP-C, published in the May 2011 print issue.
The NFCA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding for celiac disease that will advance research, education and screening among medical professionals, children and adults.
