Zipnosis - Online Healthcare by NPs & PAs
Minnesota-based Zipnosis links patients to providers using their online diagnostic platform. For the April ADVANCE for NPs & PAs Care & Convenience column (Online Healthcare: A New Wave in Convenience), I talked to Kevin Smith, who was a pioneer for the convenient care industry as the first chief nurse practitioner officer for MinuteClinic. Smith now works for Zipnosis, and when we spoke he said services were available in Minnesota exclusively but hinted at expansion into other states.
Just a few short weeks later, expansion is already happening. The company announced this week that starting May 15, they will be offering online diagnosis to patients in Washington and Colorado. So, for $25, people can log on to Zipnosis.com for a safe, online diagnosis and treatment of common health needs,
including colds, flu, sinus infections, cold/canker sores, seasonal
allergies, acne, tobacco cessation and female bladder infections and
yeast infections.They answer a questionnaire, which is then sent to one of the company's NPs or PAs who responds by the end of the day or in the morning if the request is sent after clinic hours.
