Fantastic Finds for Patients

Published December 22, 2011 8:14 AM by Amy Gouley
With the cost of pharmaceuticals rising, I am always excited to discover new over-the-counter products that will work for my patients. I like to call these "Fantastic Finds."

Patients are so appreciative to be given an OTC option for their treatment. My favorite Fantastic Find is the Cetaphil Antibactieral Bar. This great cleansing bar will work wonders for all types of acne, and it helps maintain a clear complexion. Cetaphil Antibacterial Bar is a favorite choice for any acne patient on a budget or anyone looking for a face wash that helps clear pimples and easily removes makeup. The average cost is $4.00, and often I see deals of two bars for $7.00. Make sure to specify that patients should buy the Antibacterial Bar product, because it's easy to confuse it for Cetaphil regular bar soap or Cetaphil liquid soap.

Another Fantastic Find is Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatments. These oatmeal-based treatment packets provide instant relief for itchiness. Whether a patient is suffering from xerosis, eczema or hives, I suggest  Aveeno Bath Treatments for pruritis reduction. I recommend that patients soak in a lukewarm bath for 15 to 20 minutes daily. A box with eight treatments typically sells for around $7.00.

I am excited to hear about your Fantastic Finds. Please share!
