My Four Favorite Derm Cases

Published November 15, 2012 9:26 AM by Amy Gouley

Nose

1. A patient presents with a new spot on the nose for 3 months. No history of skin cancer. I believe it's a BCC and path proves it's a SCC, WOW!

Pigmentation
2. Ceruloderma, a drug-induced pigmentation secondary to Lupus medication.

Bag

3. "Show and Tell:" I love a zip lock bag attached to the chart on the door. This patient was proud of the black "chunk" he squeezed from his chest. Dx: Comedone.

Toe
4. Trauma to the toe on a 13-year-old from a motorcycle crash. And he was wearing shoes!

Trauma to toe. Define shoes?-Crocs or plastic open toe is not a shoe. Protective footwear on open bikes-motorized or not is lacking everwhere! Along with Helmets..should be required. Love the pictures.

Trauma to toe seem extensive. Did you guys get x-ray, patch the poor child & refer to ortho? curious to know ^_^
