As an editor, I mold sentences and transform prose. As a mom, I shape lives - four to be exact. I have two 13-year-old stepdaughters (one who has autism), a rambunctious 6-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter born with spina bifida. In between changing diapers, begging kids to try "just one bite," watching thousands of youth soccer games and convincing kids bedtime is the best time, I work 5 days a week as an editor. In my spare time, I sleep. And did I mention I have a husband?
It's no surprise my professional and personal lives often blend together, and how I view one no doubt affects the other. Believe it or not, my kids have taught me a lot about being a better person at home and at work. They've taught me about the need for more patience and how to look at life a little less seriously. I'm writing this blog because I think we all can relate to struggling with time, the challenges of work/life balance and trying to get the most out of what life gives us. My story is not unique; everyone has busy lives that become overwhelming at times. I hope sharing my experiences can help others realize they're not alone in this crazy rollercoaster ride called Life.
