my feet take me home after work.  They take me to see and play with my grandchildren.  They take me to church where I am grateful to be able to stand and Praise the Lord.

My feet takes me to my warm cozy home while I am at work, clinicals or just walking the most important family member, my dog Max. I have never owned a pair of shoes that are as light and comfortable as my Dansko XP's, sometimes I have to look down to make sure I am not wearing my bedroom slippers because they are just that comfortable. This was the best line I believe Dansko has ever come out with so far. I AM A BELIEVER! Thanks Dansko for loving my feet everyday!

Besides my Danskos taking me to and from work in comfort and style, I wear them to bass fishing  tournaments in the spring - yes, you read this right, bass fishing tourneys. I am the coach of a high school bass fishing team and the durability and comfort of Danskos is second to none!

Where do my Dansko take me? They take me everywhere that I plan to walk a lot. They take me to work in the Surgery/ Recovery area. They take me on Southwest Airlines to Salt Lake City, Utah to work, go to my personal physicians, and back to the airport. I have always loved my Dansko's, for nursing. Now I love them for airport travel. After moving to Arizona,I travel to Texas, Oregon, Utah, California and back to Arizona frequently. I cannot travel and walk the airports without my favorite Dansko's!

Last Saturday, I walked in the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk, in honor of my stepfather Tony. He lives with an astrocytoma in his left parietal lobe. This year’s walk included over 2700 participants and raised more than $485,000 - amazing! The colors were bright purples, oranges and greens. The Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra played. Small a capella groups along the route enchanted us with up-tempo songs of strength and hope. There were survivors, families, friends, babies in strollers - and even dogs wearing official T-shirts. As I walked, I was touched by the stories that were told with names on T-shirts, costumes, pictures, and signs. I fought back tears as I was reminded of how brave a person must be when diagnosed with brain cancer. I was honored to be included in a group of people so dedicated to their loved ones. --Lynn....not just a nurse, but daughter to Tony

My feet have taken me from birth, playing with my toes and wondering what these were to learning to stand, walk, and run, When I was a teen they helped me to be a track runner, twirler, marching band. When I graduated high school they supported me through LPN school and many years of taking care of patients, raising children, and grandchildren. They have supported me through RN school and still help me as I care for family and patient's, friends, dancing, exercising and seeing the world.

THANK YOU FEET!

My feet could bring me anywhere I am needed...as long as I have comfortable shoes! Being a mom of 3 active teenagers and a toddler, I have no idle moment! On my days off I go to the church, to the mall, to the fresh market, to the park, to the beach, to the race tracks to take pictures of my children. When home, I remain on my feet to cook, clean, walk and play with our cute lab/collie puppie and to dance with my little princess. My feet thank Dansko for making all these possible! The havana collection would surely be a wonderful treat on my birthday next week!

My feet are an eleven narrow shoe and I've always have had difficulty finding a size that fits comfortably until I had my first pair of Dansko. Now I wear them everywhere and my feet never tire. My next purchase will be for dressy ones because my clogs just don't look well with a dress. I'd like to wear a dress now and than but want to have happy feet with nylons if that's possible.

When not at work, my feet take me out for a walk with my two labrador retrievers. I adopted them from families that could no longer care of them. They are big dogs that require a lot of exercise.  My feet ache a lot as I am a size 10 and its not easy for me to find comfortable shoes as my feet are large for a female. I would love to have a great pair of shoes so my feet can keep on taking me to all different places.

Left foot, right foot, feet, feet, feet. My feet carry me upstairs, downstairs and everywhere in between like the sandy beach, or standing on your feet at the beginning of your child's sporting event. Sometimes its about putting one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking out the door to the next event in your life. Thank goodness for feet!

It seems like I am always on my feet, whether at work or not. I love hiking in the nearby mountains or taking walks around the lake. After a long, stressful day at work, there nothing better than taking some time to unwind and relax.

Today, my feet were they when I went to the shower, fed the cats, got dressed, went downstairs, let the dog out (and back in), gathered my things and headed for work.  My feet assisted in driving the car behind a school bus.  Aside from the usual walking I do in my job, today is foot care day for people who are disabled or over 65 years of age.  Feet and Foot Care will be hot topics of conversation this morning.  In the afternoon, my feet will again help me as I make supper, care for the pets in my house, go for  a walk, and do some minor house cleaning - so I can have fun during the weekend.

Where do I go as a "Nurse on the Run"?  I slip on my Dansko's every day thankful that I can work at a job I love and show nurses new and experienced how to reach their potential individually and as a team.  These shoes carry me through a new RNs tears and allow me to calm a chaotic world on screech.  I love my Dansko's and appreciate them.

When I"m not working as a Women's Health NP, my feet take me to the bedside of patients throughtout the Springfield area, pulling my 36 string Irish harp on it's harp cart, unloading it in the rain, wind, and soon the snow.  My feet, my harp and I go to hospitals, nursing homes and private homes throughout the community. We play live harp music at the bedside of those who are suffering, and for those who care for the patient. It's a long day sometimes, but I don't even notice until I get home and take off my shoes and think.. wow! That was awesome!!!!

My feet take me home after a 12-16 hour workday to my home that houses 3 kids (10, 8, 6) and a fiancé.  I quickly scan homework, prepare a meal, and jump online to do course work that is preparing me for my Master's of Nursing in Nursing Administration.  My feet take me to joy where I praise God for allowing me to be of service for another day.  They take me to hope that I have touched one more heart and made the quality of someone's work better to care for the elderly residents that we serve.  They take me to bed where I rest (2-4) hours and start by day over again, striving to better than I was the day before. My feet take me to the forward movement of nursing, to innovation, to the future of healthcare.

Where do my feet take me when I'm not at work you ask ? Well as a hospice home-care nurse, I feel like my work is never done. When I get off after a ten plus hour day, most of the time, my feet carry me to the grocery store where I get something hopefully easy (and quick) to take home where my feet carry me into the kitchen, lugging the groceries in,  so i am able to cook a meal for my husband and two 6 ft plus teenage boys...... Usually eating around 9 or 10 pm. Then my feet take me into the laundry room to have time enough to throw the dirty clothes into the washer and then my feet carry me back into the kitchen where I clean up from cooking and put the dishes in the dishwasher.  Then my feet carry me back to the laundry room to put the washed clothes into the dryer.  My feet then carry me to the couch, and by this time everyone is in the bed but me, where my feet are propped up to briefly rest and I begin to work on my numerous notes and assessments from my busy day of working, until the late hours of the night.  Then my feet, aching and tired, carry my exhausted body, sneakily, tip toeing, into the bedroom, so I don't wake my husband up.  I get a few hours of sleep till i get up at 4am to see my husband off to work and my feet again carry my sluggish body back to bed.  I am startled awake at 630am, by the alarm, so i can get my boys up, so they can get ready for school. My feet again carry me (dragging) back to bed. My feet hit the floor (wide open) again at 730am, to get ready for work, and at 830am i am at work, starting my "normal" day again and........ WHEW....... I could really use a pair of danskos !!!!!!

When not working, my feet take me to the gym for cardio and weight training or for a neighborhood walk with our three dogs. They also take me shopping and on errands. But my feet especially like to take me on longer hikes in wilderness areas or parks to be out in nature.

Carla Waxham, nursing - RN, West Anaheim Med Center September 18, 2013 8:51 PM

I have been a nurse since 1994 and a Cna prior to that, so my feet have taken me many a mile through good and bad times. Over the years I have worked in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, doctors offices, homecare, and hopefully my final resting place- hospice. As a new nurse, my feet carried me through many frustrations and numerous tears of being unsure of what i was doing and sometimes regret for going into nursing, even though thats what i wanted to be from the time i was a little girl.  As time went on and I worked in different jobs and compacities as a nurse, I considered all the experiences and opportunities to be like  "stepping stones " to what I am today- a compassionate, empathetic, caring person that thanks God everyday that I became a nurse and for all the patients through the years that have touched "me" in my career.  What other type of work would you be able to say that about?  I am thankful for my feet carrying me over all the stepping stones and hurdles over the years- it's not been easy but it's been worth it!!!

Angela Hylemon, Hospice home care - Rn- case manager, Hospice of the Carolina foothills September 18, 2013 7:52 PM

When I became a nurse in 2005, I quickly realized it was time to stop spending money on cheap shoes and mattresses.  Preservation of my back quickly moved to the forefront as a essential personal investment and self-care initiative.  Nurses are said to walk at least 3 miles a day. It's a path gladly and sacrificially walked, danced, and sometimes run (in an emergency) by tired, but well-trained and willing legs and feet. My feet keep moving when my mind can't conceive expending any more energy between family life and work.  But patients need me.  And now, as an educator, other nurses need me.  Sometimes my feet get trapped in a rat race trying to keep up with projects, other times it's (almost a literal) challenge to keep forging ahead or climbing uphill to overcome obstacles.  These feet, with a pair of Dansko shoes, would have the pleasure of "looking good, while working hard!" :)

As a l-o-n-n-g-time RN, I have lived in Dansko's for my entire career.... and after a spinal accident, affecting c-spine-to-feet the only shoes I can wear now with COMFORT and stability  are my Danskos .... I have 3 pr. that just won't wear out!  I wear them to conferences under dress suits, with jeans to all my casual outings, to the market, to work....even travelled to Europe and Africa with my Danskos..  thank you for the new styles that will fit in where my clogs wouldn't!

We need to take good care of them. I'm all about the comfort. If the shoes not only feel good, but look good, that's a plus.
