The End of Term Push

Published August 11, 2011 10:48 AM by Jennifer Preston
The inevitable end of semester push is on leaving all of the students running around looking dazed and confused for the next few weeks.  On top of the scheduled tests and finals, it is now time for the papers and projects to start rolling in and their accompanied presentations to be presented to the class.  It’s that time in the semester when everyone looks at their grades up to this point and starts to tally how many points they need (or how many more they can lose) to get the grade that they want.  The library is full, the student center is full though the atmosphere is a bit less jovial as groups and individuals work feverishly on assignments with due dates that just “snuck up” on them.  The next few weeks are probably the most stressful of the term, building and building until the culmination of all our struggles presents itself in the form of the dreaded final exam.  And then, finally, when we know that our brains can take no more, that we’ve packed it beyond capacity with our courses most crucial information . . . the term ends and we are released from our studies for a few precious weeks.  Then we start again.
