Drama

Published March 9, 2012 6:14 PM by Jennifer Preston
Every time you get a group of people together for an extended period of time there is going to be drama.  This applies to families, work settings and even school.  At first the drama can seem fascinating, like watching bad reality tv.  Every week it builds and builds and everyone else is just rooting for the train wreck.  But drama can be very damaging and draining whether you are directly involved or not.  It adds stress to already stressful situations, creates tension and suspicion and rarely does it end well.  While I do not want to get into details, this is what is happening in my class.  As the semester is drawing to a close things seem to be boiling to head and whether you were directly involved or not at the beginning, everyone is being involved in the end.   Next week is finals, which are stressful enough on their own, but the added stress generated by the drama has made it virtually impossible for me to concentrate.  Has anyone else encountered situations like this at school or work?  What did you do to weather the storm?  As for me, I am just trying to keep my head down and plow through the end term.  I’m ready for a break from it all.
