The Best Final Ever
Another term is over, but this one ended a bit differently than usual. There were no cumulative finals this time. Instead, I had one test, one oral competency and a service learning project with a paper. I can’t say that I enjoyed all of these, but I did enjoy the service learning project quite a bit. My class joined The Guidance Center and Jack’s Place for Autism Services to put on a Family Fun Day for children with developmental disabilities. There was food, vendors, a bounce house, Paws, the Detroit Tiger’s mascot stopped by and there were several activities provided by myself and my fellow OTA classmates. We provided t-shirt decorating, cookie decorating, an obstacle course and clay hand prints. At final count I believe we have over 100 visitors. It was a great experience getting to work with so many children and their families and just to see how much fun the kids were having at the event. It was, hands down, the best final I’ve ever had.
