Putting it into Practice: OT Student Blog

Starting to Make Sense

Published July 11, 2012 4:44 PM by Jennifer Preston
Time is flying by this term!  I can’t believe I’m 1/3 of the way through with my last academic quarter, it’s just surreal.  There’s been a lot of work so far, but I’m finally feeling like things are clicking together.  I’m starting to see how everything fits together and how what I’m learning in school fits in with what I’m doing at fieldwork.  I’m having more and more of those “aha!” moments and I’m loving it!  Fieldwork has been great so far.  I’ve been getting to see a wide variety of things and I love working with the kids.  I’ve also been able to observe several different OTs and a COTA so I’ve been exposed to the full range available at my fieldwork placement.  I am learning so much at fieldwork and I am so thankful to all the practitioners there who have put up with all my questions and who have actually given me the opportunity to try some things out for myself.  It’s been really great.
