About A Pediatric Perspective

The Pediatric Perspective blog is a place to come to learn of new and existing strategies for anyone working in Pediatrics or anyone who has a young loved one with occupational therapy needs.  Join Wendy as she shares these strategies along with the struggles and triumphs of being a mom and therapist navigating the Special Education world with her son.

About Wendy Spoor-Hof

Wendy Spoor-Hof is a pediatric COTA who specializes in feeding/eating and sensory integration challenges.

Wendy didn’t start her work career as a COTA. She went into travel after graduating high school and spent the next 20 years working as a corporate travel agent and traveling all over. As much as she loved traveling she came to realize something was missing. In 2001 she returned back to school to get her COTA degree.

She has been working as a pediatric COTA since graduation. For the past 10 years Wendy has been working in the Birth-to-Three field. Her background includes working on the pediatric floor at a special care hospital and working with pediatrics in both school and outpatient settings.

Wendy is the proud mother of two boys; one of whom has sensory challenges and an alphabet list of learning disabilities. It is because of her son that she feels she is able to understand and empathize with both sides of the Therapy world - as a mom and as a therapist..

In July of 2014 Wendy once again returned to school. This time she is part of a COTA to OT bridge program and hopes to graduate with her Masters degree in 2017. She continues to work full time in the pediatric/Birth-to-Three field while pursuing her Masters degree.
