Tuesday Tidbit - The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio
In March I wrote a blog about visiting Toys*R*Us and offered some suggestions on websites that offered more than your usual selection of toys. I receive an email from Stephanie Oppenheim who shared with me her website (the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio) and I want to share it with you. With the Christmas season coming websites that can help us to find toys that would be helpful for children we know and love with special needs are always helpful.
This particular website doesn't just offer suggestions on toy selections but actually awards toys special recognition stating that "educator, parent & kid testing goes into each product considered for an Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Award". But wait! There's more! You will also find articles with book reviews, toy reviews, audio reviews and video reviews. It is a true wealth of information and couldn't come at a better time with the holiday season now here. The site is also very user friendly and set up in age group sections (infants, toddlers, early years, etc). Stephanie even has her own blog where she shares her thoughts on toys. Stephanie has even been on the Today Show to share her vast knowledge of age appropriate and skill appropriate toys.
Have a look and see just how helpful and useful this website can be - especially when you've been looking for that "perfect" gift and just don't know which toy that might be.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you back here again!
