AAPA EVP Starts Today

Published February 25, 2008 12:49 PM by Stephen Cornell

New American Academy of Physician Assistants executive vice president and CEO Bill Leinweber officially joins the academy today.

The AAPA's Adventures in Lobbying event is also taking place today and tomorrow.

With the 2nd session of the 110th Congress well underway, we continue to push very hard for progress on bills that have been introduced addressing PA concerns with Medicare, Medicaid, the Federal Workers' Compensation Program, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. PAs across the country are encouraged to join our efforts. Please continue to contact your legislators and ask them to support and cosponsor these bills (see Current Issues, below). We made tremendous progress in 2007; your help is absolutely necessary to convey to legislators just how important these issues are to the PA profession and to the patients you serve.

The AAPA is very excited to host Adventures in Lobbying this month, when hundreds of PAs and PA students will come to Washington to deliver their message in person.
