Sounds like a unique program with a primary care mission.

Carroll University in Waukesha, formerly known as Carroll College, has received a $595,000 federal grant to support the development of a new physician assistant training program.

The three-year grant, from the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will help Carroll develop, launch and assess a 24-month program that focuses on training physician assistants in primary care with an emphasis on serving Wisconsin’s growing Hispanic population.

According to a university press release, students are expected to be admitted to the program in June 2009.
