Two universities are creating brand new physician assistant programs.

The University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Kaiser University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are developing physician assistant programs.

There are currently 142 entry-level PA programs accredited by ARC-PA.

Here's ADVANCE's updated list of PA programs in development:

- New York's Clarkson University
- New York's SUNY Upstate Medical University
- Kentucky's University of the Cumberlands
- Florida's Nova Southeastern University (Jacksonville)
- Tennessee's Lincoln Memorial University
- Wisconsin's Carroll University
- Illinois' Northwestern University
- North Carolina's Campbell University
- Washington's Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences
- Pennsylvania's University of Pittsburgh
- Florida's Keiser University

Welcome to the new PA program boom. The number of PA programs is well on its way to 150—and beyond.

I am hearing a rumor that Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans is starting up a PA program.  I have emailed the school and they have confirmed this, but didn't know when the program would start.  How would I find this out?
