PAs and Campaign 2008

Published October 31, 2008 11:27 AM by Michael Gerchufsky

With just a few days left before Election Day, have you been wondering whether the PA profession trends red or blue?

A check of the Huffington Post’s FundRace 2008 shows that based on nationwide contributions to presidential candidates, dollar for dollar, PAs support Democrats by a margin of more than 4 to 1.

Plugging “physician assistant” into the “occupation” search box yields results
showing that $148,830 was given by people who identified their occupation as “physician assistant” — $28,328 from 42 people to Republicans, and $120,502 from 221 people to Democrats.

The FundRace site explains the source of the data: “All calculations are based on public records filed with the FEC of contributions by all individuals totaling more than $200 (and some totaling less than $200) to a single Republican or Democratic presidential campaign or national committee for the 2004 and 2008 election cycles.”

The contributions also are searchable by address, zip code, city, donor name and employer.

All I have to say is that if Obama is elected there will be many PA's getting a pay cut.  Once he implements his Socialized Medicine agenda, many employers will be getting rid of staff in order to make up revenue lost due to his idiotic and socialist/communist ideas.

Many of us have worked and studied very hard while paying our dues, for  this radical Leftist to take it away.  His Eutopian Society is just a dream.  Carl Marx tried it and also failed.

I pray for all our fellow PA'S in harms way in Iraq, etc,  are not left alone with out support and funding as he has suggested he will do.

God Bless America.

PS. I served my country proudly for 12 years in the U.S Navy and dot vote strictly Republican, just for the best candidate.
