Is the Old PA Forum Finished?

Published November 11, 2008 2:42 PM by Stephen Cornell

After a particulary nasty election-related discussion, the old school PA Forum listserv associated with Duke University has been silent since Nov. 5.

Is the old PA Forum dead? And if it is, will anyone miss it?

At one time, the forum was pretty much the only online discussion forum for physician assistants. It was relevant and interesting, at times. The rumor was that it was even regularly--and anonymously--monitored by the AAPA staff and board of directors.

But that forum has been populated by only a few dozen diehards in recent years, while the other online PA Forum has become enormously popular with PAs, students and PA hopefuls.

The old PA Forum archives go way back to Charlene Morris's January 2, 1997, post about Nasonex.

Michael Banuchi created the modern PA Forum in 1998.

UPDATE: The old PA forum is not dead after all. It was just on hiatus for a week or so.
