Published February 24, 2009 4:37 PM by Stephen Cornell

Interesting poll results from the ADVANCE for Nurse Practitioners Web site.

If you had a doctoral degree, would you use the title "doctor"?

- Yes, I earned it. (22%)
- Yes, but not with patients. (17%)

No.  I would have PhD next to my PA-C.  I will not mislead my patients.  However, if it came to push and shove, addressing yourself as "Professor",  John Doe.  I am a PA or I am a Nurse would be appropriate.
